We hired Tina Richardson and her team in summer 2013 to do a complete kitchen remodel (including completely gutting the space and rebuilding floor and stairs). MCKD was a pleasure to work with –professional, smart, responsive, sensitive to budget– and the result was a gorgeous and functional kitchen.
We had not done any remodeling projects of this scale before so we began with some anxiety and a lot of questions. Tina and the design team spent a lot of time getting to know us, our family, our house, and our aspirations for the remodel. Together they allayed our anxieties; throughout the project, they promptly and thoroughly answered hundreds of questions. They did an amazing job designing a kitchen that met our needs for cooking, socializing, and storage, that accommodated the challenges of the space (multiple doorways, traffic areas, chimney) and that respected the character of the space (an 1850s farmhouse). MCKD’s general contractor, Eric, kept the project on schedule. The builders, painter, installers, etc. we’re all professional and pleasant to work with. The cabinets are excellent quality and beautiful; the granite countertops are spectacular.
The first test of the new kitchen came two weeks after completion, with a family gathering of 30 people. It was no problem to have six people working in the kitchen to get dinner ready, several more running in and out, and many who just wanted to hang out. Thanks MCKD!
After 30 years of Blue Formica it was time for a change. I may be slow to update, but when I do – it’s top shelf. Tina Richardson was wonderful to work with. She listened to me and my concerns. This was not a typical job – with custom made deep cabinets, a 57” wide island and a pass through to the dining room. My husband and I visited 5 granite warehouses before finding “our piece” of granite. I had to downsize my cutting board just because the granite is so beautiful – i didn’t want to miss one inch of it! We have revamped all the lighting to highlight the details of movement in the new granite. The Stone cutters were the best! The crew’s craftsmanship was top notch – a true pleasure to work with. Prompt and courteous throughout the team!
The design team did an excellent job in working through the design and install process. Eric and Jason are in the process of completing the buildout. So far their execution has been flawless.
I visited the Maine Coast Kitchen Design Showroom and found the most unusual man made counter material. Tina Richardson described the product and process to me in great detail and that’s exactly what happened. The countertops arrived at her shop on schedule. The templating took place and they were installed on schedule and are absolutely beautiful. My project was extensive and they provided all the counters for both kitchens and baths. It was such a pleasure doing business with her and her professional staff. I would highly recommend Maine Coast Kitchen Design for any size project.
I have nothing but praise for Tina and her team. Her showroom on Commercial Street can be intimidating, as much of it caters to a high-end clientele. But don’t be put off! Tina helped us organize a beautiful kitchen well within a modest budget, and moved heaven and earth to expedite the process to make sure it was completed before my birthday. My spouse and I looked around extensively before deciding on our kitchen and I can say, with full conviction, that there’s no point in wasting time looking elsewhere, because Maine Cost Kitchen Design stands head and shoulders above the competition.
Replaced kitchen counter tops with Granite. Provided excellent customer service. Both Tina and her installers were great to work with. Tina worked with my budget and was always prompt in returning calls. The project went smoothly and quickly.
